ADVENTURE

yesterday we decided to betourists so off we went to a local museum we were the only ones there but it had some interesting history in it..even a 375 year live oak tree outside of course...what a wonderful tree for kids to climb and play in..
then off to a mardi gras museum..all we saw was some of the outfits they were in the parade as it wasn't all opened ..so we just looked at them and said on my glad we didn't have to buy them and then werar them.....
there is a local sausage called boudin (boo-dan) made with different kinds of meat and seafood and of course rice and spices..we had a pamphlet with lots of boudin info in it and some of the places to go sample it..so we picked one and off we went ..the GPS said it was only a couple of miles where we were so that is the one we went too..in we walk a small deli and we thought we might buy a sandwich OH NO ..you just buy it ..so the next thing we know we are in the back of the deli where they make it and the one we thought was the owner got us a piece of mild and hot..now for the rest of the story everyone had a small paper bag and in it was a can of beer so of course we also had to do this...not sure why it had to be in a paper bag but that is the way they were drinking it so we just did the same...we learnt all about making the sausage got a tour of the smoker-kitchen and by the time we left they were like are next best buddies...what wonderful people in the cajan part of lousiana...so friendly and helpful..we will return to this part again...it has a big star on the map of places to return too....so as you can see the adventure goes on and on and we are enjoying it....even found out i have relatives here in lake charles...may lookthem up if i can find a phone book....
