RACE-NORTH

on our trip north this past weekend we started to see some bikers one the two then a bunch of several then lots more well it seems as thou we were in the middles of a road race..the tupper lake triathlon which is kinda on the same vane as the Hawaii's iron man...we aren't sure of the exact lengths of the swimming-biking-running all we know is that there were lots of bikers and runners on the road and we had to dodge them...some were bunch across the driving lane so we had to wait to pass on the other lane and be very careful..we saw several along the road fixing tires and there was one who just had a flat tire as he was throwing his bike into the grass..we think he was a tad upset..we have no idea who won the race except we were in the middle of it..

the graduation party was nice good to see members of the family we hand't seen in awhile..of course it rained so we were in the house then the sun came out so we could go outside fro a bit then it would start raining so back in we had to go..this went on for the whole afternoon...

arrived back home late afternoon..now to start to week over again and the weeks forecast is for rain every day except the 4th..so i guess inside chores-jobs a=will be on the list of things to do..enjoy your week and celebrate the 4th with a bang...

SUN

finally after many days of rain-fog-damp-spring like weather we have had a day of sun...now it is suppose to get HOT then we will complain about it being too hot..but i guess that is living in upstate NY..so yesterday we spent most of the day in the garden weeding ugh but it look great this morning so the work is showing off..not an awful lot has gone on around here since the last time i blogged (still haven't figured out about including pictures)..we did go on our canoe/kayaking adventure and back home one of the wives got since and had to be admitted into the hospital but she is home now recovering from gall bladder surgery..

this weekend we are heading north to westport,NY to attend a nephew's daughter graduation party and to visit with family/friends but our plan is to go visit lisa/andy/rj and shasta first as we can make it one our way...a wee bit out of the way but we haven't seen them since we returned home this spring...

so i guess all's well here at 464 enfield ctr rd e which is good..soon we will have to start packing for hawaii as that trip is not to far off...
can you believe that the picture worked this morning and i don't know why but it did now i will explain about it...the other day via ups this package arrive and it was from my sister sylvina who lives in michigan..she had put in BIG letters don't open till JUNE 29..if any of you really know me you can't put a package in front of me then say don't open it cause i will unless lar hides it or i don't see it..inside was this beautiful quilt made by her for us also pillow shams a bag with my name on it along with bags for my sister-in-law and my other sister that we will deliver...(if any on you have seen mitch's quilt that my sister made fro him anyway it has the same pattern and colors in it)..i guess mitch's quilt was the trail/practice one..

PEONIES

this is just one of the beautiful peonies on our plant..the first it has bloomed since i transplanted from my mom's garden

UPDATE

just an update of what has been going on around 464 enfield ctr rd...NOT MUCH...we did go away last weekend to a friends family cabin and did a wee bit of canoeing./kayaking--no rain and no one got wet almost but not all his body...we all had a good time..one of the wives of a friend didn't go and it was a good thing as she ended up in the hospital with a gall bladder attack--if she had been with us i'm not sure where the nearest hospital was...the garden has been weeded and rototilled now waiting for some rain...the peonies that i transplanted from my mom's house have finally bloomed and they are just beautiful and give some color to the place...tomorrow we go on a senior trip lunch and a country western show...ought to be fun..lar's favorite kind of music he and mitch listen to it all the time in the barn...

i don't know where the ducktail went to..i'll have to try to find it again...

RUNNING AWAY

can you believe this weekend we are running away with a bunch of friends...bruce's relatives have a cabin in the woods that is rustic so some of us are going to go away for the weekend...the plan is to do some kayaking/canoeing then of course eating and just enjoy being away for the hub bub of enfield.....the cabin is quite rustic as we understand NO electricity and NO running water and a outhouse not a problem we are all tough..
garden is coming up along with the weeds..lar has rototiller the garden once and it looks like it needs it again and i'll have to get into it and do between the plants..not today as we had over an inch of rain last night so the garden would be like a mud hole...
i have tried to add pictures to our blog but have been unsuccessful for the last couple of weeks and i don't know why..i am doing exactly what i've done before --i will try for a picture today but don't be surprised if none appear..

ALMOST DONE

these last few days we have been working on getting our winter supply of wood on the back porch for winter and we are almost done...amen...the days have been rather comfortable for wood loading that's my job--lar does the cutting and i do the loading then it is back to the house to unload and split..now that's also my job the splitting but we do have a splitter so i just have to run the lever...the garden is beginning to look like a garden as most of the stuff is coming up..not all so aren't sure if the birds ate the seeds or they just rotted away because we did have alot of rain after it was planted...right now we plan on a several friends canoe/.kayak trip over night this coming weekend--no not pitching a tent along side a lake or stream but friends have a cabin in the woods that we are going to stay in...
made a quick trip back to see lar's mom..it makes for a long day but we look at our schedule and say if we are going to visit her we ought to do it now as the calendar is filling..you all know hat that happens come summer..

tonight we are hosting a neighborhood bon-fire with a hot dog roast so let hope it doesn't rain..the weather man didn't say rain this morning so we ought to be ok...
