ok here we are enjoying another very rainy day here in georgia.....it sure was not so good getting out of atlanta heavy heavy rain-foggy and the traffic thought that it was a sunny day..on the radio we heard about lots of accidents..but my driver just tokk his time and got us to where we wanted to be without any problems...glad he was driving...the water shed here in the areais glad to get all this rain as they have been in a drought but not any more the lakes are filling up so now they are worried abut flooding....lar took me out to breakfast this am at the loidge here in the park which just happens to have wifi so we are in luck of sending and recieving for a bit...today we ware going to fdo inside stuff there is a cowboy museum near by so we thought why not...then who knows maybe some shopping....we were abel to wastch syracuse basketball last night...what a bummer they lost after we wet to bed and haven't heard about who won the other games.....there is alot to do and see in the area but on nice days...which tomorrow is suppose to be so hopefully we will get the the indian mounds and battlefields...

RAINY DAY

it rained all night on and off but this morning it just poured and poured and if we were driving we would have pulled over cause it was coming down so hard..so instead we decided to wit till it let up or even stopped..which it didn't we were also listening to the radio and we kept hearing all about the traffic build ups/accidents/roads closed and some of them were what we needed to take to go see king tut...we decided not to go into town at 1pm so instead i needed a hair cut--found a place--found a sam's club did some shopping and shared an ice cream...then we found a wal-mart a small one...needed mustard/bread so lar shopped at a kroger's and i got trimmed..so all in all it has been a good day but the rain hasn't really stopped..has let up some but there is like a maine mist out there now...tomorrow we are heading north and more than likely we will NOT have any wi-fi for a few days..we plan on using our georgia annual pass and see some historic sites and camp at a couple of their state parks.....

MUSEUM

here's what we did today...we went to the FIRST EMPEROR-CHINA'S TERRACOTTA ARMY exhibit...not to long ago an army of about 7,000 soloiders were found in a dig...come to find out it was a bunch of terreacotta army dudes...the first emoperor thought that he would have some figures built to protect him at the time of his death so he had all these built to protect him...well they have been found and it is most interesting...we had thought about also to KING TUT exhibit but we ran out of time so i think it is on the schedule for tomrrow...it has rained on and off today and tongiht it is suppose to rain heavy..so i guess we will just stay inside ahhaha...no biking and we had hoped to get some in....

NO GO

ok i did try to send pictures yesterday but for some reason they didn't go oh well i will keep trying...yesterday we went to the atlanta aquarium--which was the wrong day to go as it is spring break/school field trips/etc...so the place was crowded with lots of small/medium/large kids running around punching shoving...so we did enjoy some of the exhibits when we could get close enough to view the fish and listened to a couple of talks about some of the fish..it is a very large aquarium and well put together and we would recommend anyone to come enjoy just pick the right days ahhaha....today we are going to go see the chinese tera cotta soldiers that were found and then maybe even go see king tut...not sure if we will have time to see both as the traffic in and around atlanta is something else...i just pray...

THURSDAY

ok today was kinda a laid back day...first we all had breakfast this morning i made pancakes frank made sausages and bev brought cantaloupe....breakfast was around 9am after lar and don went for their morning walk and who knows which route they take and might even get lost hahaha...cathy and frank left around 10:30 or so then the rest of us decided that today was a get things done around the rig etc...so cleaning was on my schedule and also bev's...our hot water heater has (had ) a malfunction so lar fixed that by replacing the thermostat..seems to be working...then this afternoon it was time to play some cribbage..partners...don & lar--bev & me (that's tracy)...can you believe that the girls won ....tonight we are off to dinner at a special place..we wanted to go there the other night but it was closed till thursday so tonight the night...a very interesting place to look at on the outside but here that it has some really great food inside...so tonight the test....tomorrow we head for steve white 's place in beauna vista, ga...for the weekend then on to the atlanta area we think right now but you know we just might change our minds...not sure about wi-fi for the next few days..hope steve has it and right now we aren't sure where we will sit up the rig and have it at the next rest stop...so don't worry about us if you don't hear from s in a few days....

WEDNESDAY

yesterday we took off to see the sights of the area...first we went to FORT KING GEORGE which was built to fight the french and spanish...buikt like a typical foir the time ...then on to lunch..what else other than sea food after lunch we headed to HARRIS NECK NATIONAL REFUGE but before we arrived there we found the site ofthe smallest church in america...it was big enough for about a dozen people small and cute...at the refuge the first interesting ws a rattle snake after the guys got out ofthe truck it appeared that it had been hit probally by a car...then time for a walk to a pond that was a rookery for wood storks which ther were hundreds of them maybe even thousands birds on every tree around the pond..nesting.along with other shore birds...turkeys running around..long day so mitch said ahhaha but a good day and we saw lots ...

THE 'LAUNCH'

ok we are now in georgia with a couple of couples....both were on the canadian trip we took..one from maine and the other from ithaca our long time friends cathy/frank the other don/bev....we will be here for a few days..but the exciting news is that we really did see the launch go up...we arrived at the park we wanted to be in by 1pm yesterday to get our place which was perfect...we could see right across the indian river and see where the launch was set up to go off...so there we were for the next few hrs waiting..our friends tom and christine arrived about 1/2 hr after we arrived and then we were all set for the day...as long as we had our spot we were going to be ok...to see a launch was on tom bucket list so we just we were there for support and also to mark it off our list of things to do...we had brought a picnic lunch so no problem of getting hungry...as we sat there for the duration many many many others arrived and picked out there special sports we were surround with those of course from the states also from the netherlands/iceland/and many other countries...and we waited and waited ...hoping that it would go up on time and it did...all of a sudden we could see a red glow in the area around the shuttle then it grew bigger and then all of a sudden this big fire ball started to lift off into the sky and it was like a fire ball being sent into space...we could watch it head up till all of a sudden it split and the tanks were went back to earth and the rest of the shuttle kept on going up into space...the while thing took about 6 minutes then it was all over and we couldn't see anything any more and it was time to go....what a feeling to see it lift off..just gave me lumps in my heart thinking that there were 7 people in the shuttle being sent into space...what a thing...the traffic getting out of there was another thing...we made it ok...do it if any of you ever get a chance it is a great thing to see and we can tell you exactly where to go to see it....
