GROUND BREAKING

yesterday sat lar and i went to the ground breaking ceremony in trumansburg which is wherre we go to church, about 5 6 miles from home...we had mowed the lawn earlier in the week and also got the assignment of cooking hot dogs after for a picnic... the ceremony was good with about 50 or so people there...a family hasn't been ch chosen as of yet..there had been one in the wings but after doing some finanical checking the family was border line...if the affliate was a bigger one then they could finace it better but it is samll... the chapter plans on only building 3 houses a year and the site where we were yesterday has room for 2.. the house will be 3 bedroom--no basement--and i think we heard 1,000 square feet one story...nothing fancy --it will be built with energy savers in mind...not sure what all the extras will be for that but in this day and age it is a good idea...so it has been a busy weekend... happy father's day to all you fathers out there...

HABITAT SITE

on thursday lar and i went over to the habitat site in the town where we go to church as the churshes in the area are helping with building a habitat house...of course lar and i have been asked to help out.. wonder why??? so anyway our pastor asked to borrow our brush cutter but we said we would go to the neede work..the site needed to be made more presentable to today..saturday as there is to be a ground breaking...yep we plan on attending..and cooking hot dogs after.. right now there is no build schedule as there are 3 other houses that the affilate wants to get completed before starting a new one.right now we are kinda in limbo and think that maybe they won't even get the foundation done till late summer... the site needs alot of fill done to it in the back but that's not our department...the site was given to habitat and i think the plan is to build 2 houses on it...we don't know alot obout the family and hope to meet them today... so our life either here or on the road sure is busy...one thing we did do yesterdaty is finish up with the wood cutting for the year..now the back of the barn is full and we kinda figure that we have at least 5 yrs supply a good feeling and besides it is also lie money in the bank..i told lar we are almost getting too old for this... enjoy the day.. y

OUR BACKYARD

we have been busy trying to get caught up around the home stead but due to the weather we haven't been able to get as much done..oh well it won't go away and there's always another day... we have downy woodpewckers that visit the hummingbird feeders daily and several times a day..when the hummers come to feed they try to chase they away for they won't leave till they are full..then they go to the sunflowers for more... this morning i looked out the dining room window and said to lar oh my this is a first...there was a skunk right under the apple tree..i asked lar if he should shoot it he said not where it was cause if it sprayed it would get the house then the house would stink
