it has been a very busy summer and fall..in sept we took off for the month and adventured to iowa--minn--wisc--...our main purpose was to visit the Herbert hoover presidential library so we coujld mark off all the presidential from our bucket list...now it is time to make another one

also we visited several habitat friends  along the way..we visited del and Margaret wehking and I got to drive a really BAT (big as tractor) and plowed part of a field..and had a good visit with them and  got a tour of the area..lots and lots of corn and beans are grown in the area..

fall has been busy trying to get caught up around the house finish up the garden --before we left I planted radishes and lettuce must say the radishes were much better than when I planted them in the spring...garden taken care of also all the apples from our tgress which were a very small bucket  not a good year for apples here...

now it is time for hunting season and lar have been out most days hunting for something..he got 2 turkeys almost the last day of the fall season now he is out with his cross-bow...has been deer but not connected as of yet..

LOTS GOING ON

I have been very bad about posting now that I am on facebook ...I have been putting pictures of our travels and adventures on there..

we have been busy since we got back home in late april..of course in may was spring turkey hunting so lar was busy just about everyday going out to hunt this year he only connected once..then it came memorial day and he along with brother dan and his son-in-law and 2 grandsons, mark, terry and zac adventure into Mitchell ponds for a few days..i stayed home to main the fort and finish the garden mow the lawn and also to start packing the rig..

on Friday after he got back we gook off for the boston area first stop ws in springfield mass where we visited the springfield armory (national site)..then on the a state park near boston the next day we went to visit the JFK presidential library (now only 1 more to visit) and also the Edward kennedy sentate institute..all interesting and of course filled full  of history most of course happened in our life time..

the next day finds us adventuring into the john adams national historic site of course another stamp and a tour of the homes ...

the next day finds us going out to a beach and not for a swim  we wanted to do something where the traffic wasn't so busy also to find a place to eat some lobster..must say it was ok but not good enough to write home about all we can say is we ate lobster..

ok now it is time to move into new Hampshire and go to saint gaudens yep national site another interesting place and I don't think we would have gone there if it hade not been to get a stamp and work on a ranger badge but we are glad we went ...also to shop at one of NH state stores to stock up liquor cabinet good prices and NO tax...we camped at a place that we could also go to another national historic site in Vermont..this one is called marsh-billings-rockerfeller estate..again if it had not been for us wanting to get a stamp and badge we would not have just gone..again glad we did as we learnt more interesting facts about the rockerfeller one of the brother had been NY governor for many years..

by now it is time to head for Ithaca aas we had our yearly eye appt..so our june adventure ended..

june has been a busy month trying to get off projects done and get marked off the pist of the "to do list"

now it is july and it has only started so july 2 we hosted a thanksgiving in the barn with a garbage can turkey--bon fire and fun..

that's al for now..

BACK IN ITHACA

we arrived back in enfield about 3 weeks ago and things have not stopped since we arrived back...for some reason we just get busy and feel we have never been away...

this winter was a good one we had NO major breakdowns and what needed to be fixed was just minor little things and i don't even remember what they were so that in its self made for a good winter..we spent time in florida visiting with lisa and andy as lisa moved to florida last oct and has not been thru the summer yet..hope they don't melt ahhaha...we also volunteered at a couple of restore along the way (like a salvation store but only habitat version).. ..al.so did some building  in robertsdale, al and a 2 week build in houma, la...

of course we visit several national parks that we hadn't been too yet now we can cross them off out list yep we also got junior ranger badges...talked to another adult who was working on his and compared notes..

after getting home it has been time to start on the list of things to do around the homestead..it was time to mown lawn--get garden ready--firewood is another thing --- then of course there is always dr's appts to get too..my does the list of things ever  end..also we had to get back to our volunteer jobs..

the weather hasn't been that great after arriving back..oh the first week was beautiful but then the rain started and i don't it has stopped much..it has been a wet spring as far as i think..or it seems that way anyway...

spring turkey season started may 1st and you know who has been out there almost every day so far he has only got one unless he is coming in with another one right now as i type this...NOTHING..

so life is good here at 464---now it is time to start planning winter 2017...

wal-mart parking lot on way home got up to 25 rigs in parking lot..mostly from canada

FIRST WEEK OF WORK

we have been busy this past week..we have been working with 2 college groups one from iowa and the other from boston both a good group of students they give up their spring break to volunteer for habitat and other places..

on st partick's day the care-a-vanners decided to enjoy a corned beef and cabbage dinner so we all  gather what we had for veggies and bought some corned beef..it was cooked in a coups of different crock pots during the day then all put together and it was mmmm..

today was our last day with this group of students so it was a good-bye to them..we even worked  a short day as there were several t/storms warning and it was felt that to be on the dave side we ought to come back to our rigs..back we came and so far no storms here but where we were working the rains came down in buckets etc..

it has been a good week and 1 more week to go then time to move on..

IT HAS BEEN AWHILE

yep it has been awhile since I last posted not because I didn't want to but the Wi-Fi we had wouldn't let me...oh well so much for Wi-Fi..

since I last posted we have spent a month in summerdale , Alabama which is just around the corner from foley...we were surprised one afternoon when we got an e-mail from some old habitat friends who were there for a few days..we had a fun time with them they are big bikers (not mororcycles but bikes)..so most days we were biking somewhere...and of course eating out...

we also volunteered at the restore and got some of their shelves  in good order (bet they aren't like that today)...habitat had wanted to start a house in january but due to funding they had to wait till last weekend..so on sat we spent the day at the house along with 60 others volunteers..there were several high school groups and they are always fun to work with...we spent most of our time clearing brush around the property...lar was in his glory entertaining the girls ahahahah and of course singing..

we left Alabama on Monday and we are now in lousiana and waiting out a storm...drove in some horrible rain and thought of pulling over but lar just took his time and we finally drove out of it after a couple of hrs...we are now in breaux bridge where we have camped before  because we are kinda by tyler barrier and wanted to have dinner with I'm last night..he is working for the wildlife and fisheries at a wildlife refuge....of course they both wanted crawfish so that is what they had...good seeing him and catching up with what has been going on with him..

today we are staying put as the news is advising not to travel due to some severs storms coming in...so we are staying put...lar needs to work on the taxes and I've got little things to do like blog ahahha

so life is good and all's well here in Cajun country...
mardi gras parade in the campground
 frame day in alabama

we have been busy..spent christmas with lisa and andy the n also new year's day had a good time with them..had lots of good food..of course also went for a swim...then they came over to visit us and we had to show them where we had built houses and to met some of our friends,,also another trip to plant city for you got it strawberry shortcake...had to force lar to go get another one ahhahaha

then we moved on to zephryhills for 3 weeks..met up with lots of good friends and family...visited with habitat friends also friends fro

m back home in falconer...went out to dinner several times good times..even had a renuion with several couples some of the group are thosse we first did a care-a-van build with 10 years ago so it was a renuion..fun

also volunteered at the restore in z/hills..found it most interesting and learnt  alot about the restores..most days lar walked off with items we bought..more treasures for his collection at home...we could have stayed longer in z/hills but we had other plans and reservations..

then we moved on to old town, fl because we know of a wonderful bike trail...biked several days and what good about florida bike trails is for the most part they are flat and we aren't riding on the roads...

now we find ourselves in holt, florida for a few days and plan on doing some more biking but we have to wait for the temps to warm up as this morning when we got up it was 30 out...not like home...we also have to pick up our mail at our forwarding service..

god bless
