FINALLY SOME SUN

can you believe that finally we have sun in the forecast!!! and even for the next couple of days..amen..we have been able to get in the garden and get that weeded and mulched---now waiting for some fresh veggies other than lettuce and onions..we have some small zucchini-tomatoes-peppers and not sure how the potatoes are doing but the plants look great...

we have been busy just doing stuff around the property-going to meetings-watching it rain-and stuff...hope you all looked at your watches at 4:56 on 7-8-09..that is something that only happened twice yesterday and we talked about it but never thought to look at our watches...today it is lawn mowing again...
and who is wiser?????

SUN-SUN

finally yesterday we had sun for most of the day..so it was a day to be outside and get some projects done..the garden got tilled and weeded laewn got mowed on sat..but rain is still in the forecast for this coming week..lar was up all night fighting a house fire and the house was a total fully involved when they arrived so it was just a matter of putting the fire out so it didn't spread to anywhere else...this coming week is a busy one with meetings-picnics-and just stuff...
a great bon-fire we hosted for the neighborhood a couple of weeks ago..

RAIN-RAIN

we have been enjoying rain for the past week and it seems like it rains about everyday...the lawn is soon going to be able to be bailed for hay or we will have to rent a cow to get it short like a lawn again...the garden has standing water in it and we don't even dare to get into it as we would sink right in then not be able to get out...there is lettuce and onions to be picked but they just keep right on a growing....no big plans for us for july 4th oh there are fireworks around but we haven't even decided if we might want to go to see them--of course if we decide then it will depend on the weather...there was someplace i don't really remember that cancelled their fireworks due to it being so dry not our problem..they would cancel due to it be so wet...everyone enjoy the 4th and remember why we celebrate it...

RACE-NORTH

on our trip north this past weekend we started to see some bikers one the two then a bunch of several then lots more well it seems as thou we were in the middles of a road race..the tupper lake triathlon which is kinda on the same vane as the Hawaii's iron man...we aren't sure of the exact lengths of the swimming-biking-running all we know is that there were lots of bikers and runners on the road and we had to dodge them...some were bunch across the driving lane so we had to wait to pass on the other lane and be very careful..we saw several along the road fixing tires and there was one who just had a flat tire as he was throwing his bike into the grass..we think he was a tad upset..we have no idea who won the race except we were in the middle of it..

the graduation party was nice good to see members of the family we hand't seen in awhile..of course it rained so we were in the house then the sun came out so we could go outside fro a bit then it would start raining so back in we had to go..this went on for the whole afternoon...

arrived back home late afternoon..now to start to week over again and the weeks forecast is for rain every day except the 4th..so i guess inside chores-jobs a=will be on the list of things to do..enjoy your week and celebrate the 4th with a bang...

SUN

finally after many days of rain-fog-damp-spring like weather we have had a day of sun...now it is suppose to get HOT then we will complain about it being too hot..but i guess that is living in upstate NY..so yesterday we spent most of the day in the garden weeding ugh but it look great this morning so the work is showing off..not an awful lot has gone on around here since the last time i blogged (still haven't figured out about including pictures)..we did go on our canoe/kayaking adventure and back home one of the wives got since and had to be admitted into the hospital but she is home now recovering from gall bladder surgery..

this weekend we are heading north to westport,NY to attend a nephew's daughter graduation party and to visit with family/friends but our plan is to go visit lisa/andy/rj and shasta first as we can make it one our way...a wee bit out of the way but we haven't seen them since we returned home this spring...

so i guess all's well here at 464 enfield ctr rd e which is good..soon we will have to start packing for hawaii as that trip is not to far off...
can you believe that the picture worked this morning and i don't know why but it did now i will explain about it...the other day via ups this package arrive and it was from my sister sylvina who lives in michigan..she had put in BIG letters don't open till JUNE 29..if any of you really know me you can't put a package in front of me then say don't open it cause i will unless lar hides it or i don't see it..inside was this beautiful quilt made by her for us also pillow shams a bag with my name on it along with bags for my sister-in-law and my other sister that we will deliver...(if any on you have seen mitch's quilt that my sister made fro him anyway it has the same pattern and colors in it)..i guess mitch's quilt was the trail/practice one..

PEONIES

this is just one of the beautiful peonies on our plant..the first it has bloomed since i transplanted from my mom's garden

UPDATE

just an update of what has been going on around 464 enfield ctr rd...NOT MUCH...we did go away last weekend to a friends family cabin and did a wee bit of canoeing./kayaking--no rain and no one got wet almost but not all his body...we all had a good time..one of the wives of a friend didn't go and it was a good thing as she ended up in the hospital with a gall bladder attack--if she had been with us i'm not sure where the nearest hospital was...the garden has been weeded and rototilled now waiting for some rain...the peonies that i transplanted from my mom's house have finally bloomed and they are just beautiful and give some color to the place...tomorrow we go on a senior trip lunch and a country western show...ought to be fun..lar's favorite kind of music he and mitch listen to it all the time in the barn...

i don't know where the ducktail went to..i'll have to try to find it again...
