HANKY-PANKY

there has been hanky-panky going on it our back yard this morning...we have had a male pheasant for a couple of years z has come to our bird feeder and clean up the seeds on the ground...late last year he was bringing a couple of females pheasants with him...they have been fun to watch and of course we have named them..he is Philpot and then there is penny and patty...this morning as we were looking out the dining room window he was doing a dance around penny then all of a sudden he jumps on her and she squats down..within a matter of minutes he get off of her and walks away..(you can only imagine what they were doing) then patty arrives on the scene and he is doing his dance around her and she wants nothing to do with him yet anyway... so living in the country provides all kinds of entertainment some you don't even expect to see.. life is good here in the country!!!!!!!

EXCITEMENT

now what is the excitement in enfield ??? last night around midnight we both were soooo sound asleep the fire siren went off again as it had the night before..of course lar dosen't really hear it but I do and then I hear chatter on the miniter/pager and I think I hear enfield ctr rd e..now that's our road so up I get to listen to it again to hear exactly what is going on on our road...well I turned it off instead of on but I looked out our dining room window that faces down hill and what do I see but the night sky just aglow with red...oh my I guess there is a fire at the neighbors..i called lar out of bed to tell him that there is a big fire down the hill...up he jumps and away he goes... yes indeed that was a trailer fire at the neighbors..the house is of questionable character (boarding house) and filled with some of our most finest....the person who rents the room also has a couple of travel trailers that he rents out to whomever we don't know..we have looked at this trailer before and thought that it is just waiting for a fire as they had electric cords running from the house to it..and who knows what else.. at the scene lar heard that who ever had been living in it had been thrown out not to long ago so there could be some police work that needs to be done to come up with the cause of fire..glad that no one was in it as it didn't take long for it to be completely gone .. so lar returns back home around 3am or so back to bed for the rest of a nights sleep.....hopefully tonight will be a quiet night in our small little country town of enfield center and a good nights sleep can be had by all

COLUMBUS, OH

today we had on our schedule to go into the ohio state capital so we asked our gps (onstar) about the directions and were given some..so off we went to find the capital building to take a tour in it...we followed the directions and went by some building that had a sign outside that said future site of state house...must be that isn't the capital so we again went on on-star to ask for more directions and were given more to a different place...we found an ohio historical museum...must be there really isn't one here ..so we asked at the desk about where the capital was and were given a blank look as to say we don't know...there was another lady who also wanted to go to the capital and thought she was in a tourist center...finally she was given some written directions...so we also got a copy and thought as long as we were at the museum why not go thru...so we did after 3 hrs looking at stuff we decided not to try to find the capital and instead headed back to the campground...we had been museum "OUT".....stopped to look/buy some new shoes which we did.. after a long day out and lar even found a KK and was happy that he had a donut hahahah we have decided that a state house is probally the same as a capital building..oh well we missed ohio and not sure if we will try to find it at a different time...

ANOTHER CAPITAL

yesterday was a travel day and some of it was in rain --we did not have to take donw in the rain nor set up which we are glad of .. took a ride to check out where we wanted to go to today so this morning off we went to the capital of Kentucky...had a really good guide who took her time and it sure wasn't like when we went thru the one in Jackson, ms--that one we felt we were on the run... after which we were told of a candy factory that gave tours so why not..a small factory but interesting.. also on our plan of activities was to go to the buffalo trace distillery...and can you believe that we had another great tour guide and his name was Freddie...learnt a lot more about making bourbon..also never gave it a thought but if someone is allergic to wheat-cokrn then they shouldn't be drinking bourbon as that is what is used to make it...Freddie was very informative and had lots of stories to tell us about the place and area... all in all we had a good day and tomorrow on the move again...heading toward Columbus, ohio with the hope of visiting another state capital..most of the capitals so far have a lot of the same but then again each one is a tad different...

CHECK OFF BUCKET LIST

we have wanted to for several yrs wanted to go to the grand ole opry and last night we finally did..when we have been here before there wasn't a show going on or we were here when Mitchell was just 8 weeks old and didn't want to leave him for several hrs alone...we checked into the campground around 3 and talked to the girls behind the counter abut getting tickets and she told us nothing for tomorrow night but I can check on tonight (fri) so we looked at each other and said if we are going to do it then I guess we have to go tonight...yep she could get us tickets for tonight...also included was transportation to and from ...of course for a wee bit more...we had just gotten off I-65 which was a mess bumper to bumper for lots and lots of miles and there was NO way we wanted to fight the traffic besides we didn't even know where the theatre was....we drove in some very heavy rain which didn't help the trip here....we had to be ready to go at 5:15 so we had to hurry set up and grab a bite to eat...we did it not a problem.. I-65 was still a mess when the driver came for several of us to take to the show but luck was with us he knew his way around and said he was taking some short cuts ahhahahaha...he also had to pick up several others at hotels around town but we made it on time... now getting out of the parking lot was a different story...again bumper to bumper slow not even a quick quick once in awhile...got back home (rig) around 11:30 exhausted but we had a good time and enjoyed the show once we got to our seats and it started....would we do it again..right now the answer would be no cause of all the horrible traffic going and coming from the theatre but who knows in a couple of yrs we might have forgotten about that... the names of some you might know who were entertaining last night were RICKY SKAGGS-LARRY GATLIN those were a couple of names that rang w bell with me.... tomorrow is easter and we will probally be traveling but will take a minute or two to remember what it is all about.. god bless

ELVIS

today was spent at the elvis Presley homestead and museum...but not before we did some shopping found an outlet so we stopped and spent some money..bought some new jeans and lar got a NEW pair of habitat work pants so he is a happy camper.. our next door neighbors where we are camped are spending all their time fishing so tonight we had sme fresh fish to eat...they cooked in in a cast iron ditch over with bacon and onions and it was very good.... tomorrow heading toward Nashville and hope to get in a show at the grand old opry which we have never done before and have been to Nashville a couple of times and never had time or there wasn't any shows going on but this time there are so we hope to take one in. .

TRAVEL DAY

we left Jackson, ms around 9 and took route 25 then 35 and headed to the natchez trace parkway and what a scenic ride it was...there was a 7 mile stretch where april 2011 a tornado came threw and sure took a lot of trees down..then we acame acrosssome signs in the road that said do not report the fire along the side of the road...the rangers were doing a scheduled burn... we were a tad disappointed while oin the trace as we didn't see any wildlife but we arrived at a state park outside tupelo and have seen way over a couple dozen deer...so I guess the wildlife hides here in the stsate park.. today we are off to go visit elvis home town.. all's well with us god bless all
